Fees
- We ask for a £50 registration fee and a £150 refundable deposit in order to secure your place at Gan Kinneret.
- The deposit will be offset against your child’s last terms fees when written notice is received.
- We will keep records of payment and help parents’ complete payment forms. We will ask all parents to sign when payments are made.
- Bills are calculated per on the hours a child attends per term and will be handed out towards the end of each month for the following months attendance. This must be paid in full by the 5th of each month.
- We offer the government grant of 15 free hours a week, which we will organise for you, for the term after your child turns three. This will be in the form of 5 sessions.
- If your child is entitled to a working parent grant, you will need to obtain a code from gov.uk and complete the contact on the following page.
- All children on the 9 month, 2 year old or 3 year old grants will be charged £50 per month to cover consumables (see below)
- We ask all parents to pay fees a month in advance (payment due before the 5th of each month). Late payments will result in a one off fine.
- A £25 charge will be applied for a represented cheque or bounced cheque.
- Please give one terms written notice if you intend to withdraw your child from the nursery, or one terms fees will be due and deposits will not be refunded.
- We do our best always to be well staffed and equipped. This is an expensive exercise and therefore need parents to pay fees promptly to keep costs down.
If you need to isolate for any reason, your child is unwell, you are on holiday during term time, or you are absent for any other reason, then fees are still due in full in order to keep your place in the setting.
Government Grants
For those children receiving a government grant, we charge £50 per month. We are required from April 2025 by the Government to clearly break down any charges made for your childcare with us.
Government Funding is to cover the Basic Early Years Foundations Stage provision which includes such things as: –
- Small world figures, role play, puzzles, books and basic craft supplies
- Sand and water play
- Loose parts and construction toys
- Staffing levels that meet the minimum Government ratios.
The government funding does NOT include:
- Tissues and nappy sacks
- Emergency spare clothes
- Enrichment activities such as gardening and cooking
- Special events such as our weekly Shabbat service, summer party, end of year show, graduation party
- Festivals, for example, our Purim Party, Mock Seder, Chanukah party
- Additional high-quality resources such as our new outside resource area, sand pit, our digger area, our baking supplies, our vegetable growing to list just a few.
- Additional Staff over the basic minimum legal requirement
- Additional Safeguarding Leaders
- Over 50% of staff are Paediatric First Aid Trained.
- Access to online Learning Journal and care dairy (tapestry).
Therefore, please be aware of our terms and conditions in this pack that you will need to sign to say you either opt in or opt out of our Additional Service Change.
Opt – Out
If you choose to opt- out you will be able to receive basic government provision of 15 or 30 hours free of charge only on selected sessions. We will also supply you with a list of everything you will need to bring in for every session your child attends. We will need to check this before you leave and if there is anything not supplied then you child will be unable to attend due to lack of provision provided.
Also please be aware that some sessions/days will need to be changed throughout the year, depending upon when our enhanced provision sessions are, we will give you a list of dates each half term that will need to be changed.
The costs to create this high-quality provision will have already been discussed with yourselves during your visit to us and will not change if you choose to opt-in,
Income based criteria: if you are in receipt of any of the below, you may be entitled to 2 year funding or Early years pupil premium:
- Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to working tax credit and annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
- Working tax credit run-on
- Income support
- Income-based Job Seekers Allowance or Income-related Employment Support Allowance
- The Guarantee element of State Pension Credit
- Supported by NASS as an asylum seeker
Universal Credit
Early Years Pupil Premium:
With your permission, the nursery can check for your eligibility with the local authority to see if you can access the Early Years Pupil Premium. The premium is worth up to £300 per child per year and is paid directly to Gan Kinneret. This is for the purpose of improving the quality of early education for your child and ensuring the best start towards their education.
Free Hours For Working Parents
At Gan Kinneret we offer 15 hours free for all three year olds.
Early years government funding for working parents
The government is offering 30 hours of free childcare per week for children aged 9 months and older from September 2025. This expansion follows previous expansions for 15 hours of childcare for 2-year-olds and 15 hours for 3- and 4-year-olds. Eligibility criteria include working parents earning the equivalent of 16 hours a week at national minimum or living wage and under £100,000 adjusted net income per year. Parents can apply for these entitlements through their local council or provider.

What you need to apply
You’ll need your (and your partner’s, if you have one):
- National Insurance number
- Unique Taxpayer Reference (UTR), if you’re self-employed (if you have a UTR)
You’ll also need:
- The UK birth certificate reference number (if you have one) of any children you’re applying for
- The date you started or are due to start work (this can be approximate if it’s more than 3 months ago)
Once your application has been approved
You’ll get an 11-digit code in your childcare account.
HMRC will let you know by text or email that the code is in your account.
Give the code to your provider along with:
- Your National Insurance number
- Your child’s date of birth
Reconfirming your eligibility
To keep getting Free Childcare for Working Parents, you must reconfirm your eligibility by signing in to your childcare account every 3 months.
If you apply more than 3 months before the term starts, you’ll have to reconfirm your eligibility in your account in order to keep your code valid.
