Gan Kinneret is a family run nursery that has been running for over forty years in the capable hands of Mrs Dina Samson and highly experienced and qualified team. We cater for children between the ages of 9 months and rising five. We are a faith-based setting, which is large and spacious and split over three classrooms for a maximum of 63 children a day. We are a pack away nursery based in Edgware Synagogue. We teach the children about the world around them, their own communities as well as others. We provide lots of opportunities for families to be involved in their children’s learning, their progression, experiences and their interests. Together with the PTA we raise money to help others and organise events for the parents to enjoy with their children.

We are an oversubscribed nursery, with a current OFSTED rating of outstanding, that offers a fantastic educational start to your children’s lives. We appreciate that you are your child’s first educator, and work with you to find the most appropriate and beneficial way to build on your teachings.

Our setting provides a mixture of adult-led and child-led activities. Planned activities are based on celebrations, seasons, children’s interests and expanding their knowledge of the world around them.

Gan Kinneret is based on the lower level of Edgware United Synagogue’s building. We have fantastic classrooms and two outside areas for the children to explore. The children enjoy indoor and outdoor play throughout the day. Their physical development, health and well being is supported by using soft play equipment inside, weekly exercise classes and a large outdoor area with climbing frames and mud kitchens. They are able to explore the area and make their own choices. 

Through role play, the children gain knowledge of the world around them. They are able to extend their communication and language by interacting with each other and the staff, as well as expanding their personal, social and emotional development, learning to share resources with one another, being able to adjust their ideas to suit their peers and build on them together.

Our children are imaginative and love to explore. We use art, crafts and messy play to allow the children to express themselves, build on their core strength and fine motor skills. They are able to choose their resources and build on their work over time, using planned activities, as well as their own interests.

We build the children’s confidence through opportunities to perform during circle time, weekly Shabbat services with the Rabbi and an end of year performance on stage in front of an audience.
